I chose a horizontal frame because it shows all of the object I'm trying to show including my face. This gives the person an easier understanding of what I’m trying to convey in my artist statement. The props I chose were my basketball shoes and my Arizona Basketball camp T-shirt. I chose these because basketball is one of my passions and something I work really hard at. One of my favorite things about the sport is there’s always something to get better at and knowing you're improving and getting better is one of the best parts about playing the sport. The best feeling in my opinion is knowing after you succeed or accomplish something you remember all the hard work and dedication that got you to reach your goal. I chose my shoes because, besides the ball and the basket its very important to have your shoes. It also incorporates one of my favorite NBA players Kevin Durant. I chose my Arizona Basketball camp shirt because, Arizona is my favorite college basketball team and it includes some current and former players from the team. I chose this angle in my photo so you don’t see my face only my shoulders down so you could see the shoes hanging of my neck and the words written on my shirt.
The process to calculating the problem above was first I made a diagram showing showing the person in front of the camera. The camera is straight but light doesn’t come at a straight line so I drew a triangle reflecting on the object the pinhole camera is taking a photo of and coming back to the camera itself. Next I made the diagram of the same triangle but without the person or camera so it looks like two shapes. Now I need to prove that these two shapes are similar. First we know that lines HF and TB are parallel because the when the angles are matched up they go the same direction. We also know that the two angles (HPF and TPB) are vertical because when put together the shape when measured the shape is less the 90 degrees. My final statement was F is equal to T. In class we came to the conclusion that the two were alternative interior angles. When the the two shapes are put together the two angles line up the same direction. My final task was to solve the equation 70 over 24 ( 70 the is the height of the person and 24 being the size of the film in the camera) by D (distance) over 10. I first cross multiplied 70 and 10 then divided my product by 24. I divided 700 by 24 and my final answer was 29.16.
In the beignning of this project it was really difficult because I would almost never got a picture to work my camera didn't even work to start out with and that was really frustrating but, I kept practice and revising my camera and each time I took a photo my camera improved each time until I got it to actually work and that was pretty exciting. I think next time for this project it should be something different that is photo related. I found 35mm film really difficult to use and there weren't many places to develop color film.
