Math reflection
Through out this year I have grown a lot in terms of math skills and applying what I've learned in my work and in the classroom. However, these successes wouldn't of been possible if it wasn't for the struggles I had to endure and failures that lead me to succeed in the classroom. In the beginning of first semester we would occasionally do quizzes to gauge our learning throughout the previous months. These quizzes consisted of multiple topics. My scores were not what I had hoped for so what I did to change that so I could get the score I wanted in the future was to take the time to really understand the content at hand and master it the best way I could as well as asking questions with my peers and teacher. This practice really paid off especially 2nd semester when I started to notice better scores on quizzes, worksheets and an overall better understanding of new concepts. Something I also struggled with quite often was asking for help when I didn't quite understand something. I resulted to asking my fellow group members for help and as a group we collaborated and tackled the subject head on. When we solved the content as I group I noticed very positive results and a better understanding after collaborating as a group. This resulted in a far better class experience and knowledge growth as oppose to figuring out the content ourselves. Something I want to improve on especially this summer is repetition and improving my weaknesses skill wise when it comes to math. I will be taking the SAT again beginning of senior year and my first SAT attempt my math was definitely not where I wanted it to be. By getting outside help and consistently strengthening my math skills I think will lead to overall success on the SAT math section. Finally I'm especially looking forward to math class senior year so I can fully prepare myself for what math might be like transitioning into college and what math I might be learning.
