ELEMENTS OF ART CUBE
Each student created an art cube, each side presented an example of an element of art. Each student did multiple drafts of each element of art before creating the cube. There are 6/7 elements of art (Line, shape, space, texture, color, form/value) each side of the cube displayed. Line is a never end point moving in space, Shape is a form created by a point moving in space, Space is an unoccupied area, Texture shows how something created feels, color is light that is reflected into the eye to create color and lastly value is the lightness/darkness and tones of different colors.
learning process
As a class the teacher would make a mini lesson explaining each element of art and examples of this element of art. After each lesson we would sketch an example of the element of art. After each sketch someone would leave us feedback on what to improve on for the next sketch. There were 3 sketches in all. The final sketch would end up being one of the sides on the cube. It had been quite a while since I was actual taught the elements of art so most of the information was fairly new/different. i was never a actual taught on the other hand the literal definitions of for example color and shape. For the revision and feedback I learned thats important to write something that would improve their work other then just.. "it looks good" or "great drawing". Without critical feedback the sketch wouldn't progress or improve.
